Color-coded Visual Indicator Shows Healthcare Personnel When to Replace Curtains, Reducing Risk of HAIs, Lowering Costs, and Improving Patient Outcomes
ST. LOUIS, Jun 06, 2013 (BUSINESS WIRE) — ICP Medical LLC, a leader in infection control and prevention products for hospitals and medical facilities, recently announced a partnership with Timestrip (R), makers of a time monitoring device. The technology will be utilized in ICP Medical LLC’s line of privacy curtains used in healthcare facilities nationwide. The Timestrip(R)’s color-coded label monitors elapsed time and indicates when curtains should be replaced.
“Our Rapid Refresh(TM) brand is all about simplifying the job of the healthcare worker by making it fast and easy to refresh a curtain. We are excited to offer a revolutionary product that makes managing curtain changes easy for increased compliance and a safer environment.,” reported Brian Sanders, president of ICP Medical LLC. “The Timestrip(R) label on our Rapid Refresh(TM) curtains changes color after a specified time, informing the worker that it’s time to make the change,” he added.
Hospital privacy curtains can quickly become contaminated with bacteria such as methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile (C. diff). The Timestrip(R) indicator on the Rapid Refresh(TM) curtains, after being manually activated, automatically changes color during the recommended life of the curtain. When the indicator is completely red, the curtain needs to be changed.
ICP Medical LLC’s Rapid Refresh(TM) product line is a proprietary brand of infection control and prevention products including disposable curtains, gowns, scrubs and jackets, lab coats, and personal protection equipment (PPE) organizers that conveniently dispense fresh product upon demand. The Rapid Refresh(TM) product line is currently used by numerous hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities throughout the United States.
