Acana Moth Trap

Acana is a new and dynamic player in the Aircare, Insecticide and Household categories based in Nottingham in the UK.

Acana Moth TrapAs part of its aggressive NPD program, Acana has launched a new Moth Monitoring product – available in both Primary & Refill packs.

Both packs can be found initially in John Lewis, Lakeland and Robert Dyas stores and the products are also about to launch in overseas markets including Malta, UAE and Saudi.

This latest addition to the Acana Moth Range has been specially developed to attract and trap moths – without the use of harsh chemicals. The Moth Trap uses the latest pheromone technology to attract adult moths and checks for any moth infestation as a ‘first alert’.

The product comes with a Timestrip visual ‘End of Life’ Indicator mounted on the front. Once activated by simply finger pressure it displays elapsed time and prompts the replacement of the sticky pad moth catcher after 8 weeks.

Stuart Anderson, Managing Director commented: “Acana is delighted to be using the Timestrip technology. From the get-go I have been a “believer” in this innovative solution and our new Moth Trap products are the perfect products to take advantage of the benefits the Timestrip provides.”

He went on to say: “Users of our new product can see exactly when they need to replace the Pheromone Glue Boards. We are confident that this will lead to prompt renewal and help increase repeat purchase rates.

It has the added benefit of showing users when the product has stopped working – insuring continuous protection from the menace of Moth damage. The technical nature of the Timestrip also helps reinforce the Acana brand values.”

The Moth Trap is only the 2nd Acana product to use the Timestrip device but Acana plans to extend the scope of its adoption to other future products.

As Timestrip Managing Director Reuben Isbitsky observesOur life In Service indicators can monitor elapsed time from just a few hours to 3 years and we have already engineered our product into components manufactured by some of the world’s most trusted brands.

Acana shares the common aim of helping consumers take the guess-work out of following refill replacement schedules and we are delighted to be working with a UK company looking to innovate within established categories.”

Frostine’s: Major Korean beauty brand LG’s skin care line

Timestrip indicators were added to the base of glass bottles used across the Frostine’s range by LG cosmetics as it launched its revolutionary new brand across Korea in one of its biggest multi-channel campaigns of 2012.

LG is the second biggest cosmetic brand owner in Korea and the Frostine’s brand extends its reputation for innovation in the sector.

The Frostine’s range comprises toners, eye creams, masks and moisturizers with a unique formulation that requires the products to be kept refrigerated at all times. In addition to the chilled characteristics, some of the creams and toners lose their efficacy after 6 weeks, so each bottle comes with a Timestrip applied to the base so that consumers can trigger the timing label and check the product integrity at a glance each time they are used.

See their custom Timestrip design and unique cosmetic integration from 1:50-3:00 in the video below.

Miele adopts Timestrip technology to ensure consumers get the best out their vacuum cleaners.

London/UK – April 8th 2014, Timestrip extends its reach into household consumer appliance market with the pan-European launch of the new Miele S8 Silence Plus Allergy model, featuring a Timestrip solution to alleviate the problem of remembering when to change and replace the all important filter.

The S8 unit features the HEPA AirClean filter, a HEPA Class 13 filter which achieves 99.95% filtration and holds back even the most minute particles and pollen, making it an ideal choice for allergy sufferers.

Miele has chosen TimeStrip to provide the change and replace visual reminder on the HEPA filter cartridge, to provide a clear visual notification of the need to replace the filter.

Activating the indicator couldn’t be easier: when fitting a new filter, the user simply presses on a green arrow indicator on the side of the filter housing the Timestrip. This triggers the Timestrip and results in the release of a specially formulated fluid encapsulated into the smart label. As the months pass, red indicator fluid slowly extends across the time check window. After approximately one year, the fluid fills the window and reaches the right-hand end of the strip, prompting the user to replace the saturated filter.

Commenting on the Miele project, Timestrip CEO Reuben Isbitsky said “This is a great example of a low-cost solution to the age old problem of reminding consumers that components in their products do need changing at the correct interval, and shows how leading brands are choosing Timestrip to help make this a simple, effective and value-adding proposition.”
