A Step-by-Step Guide

DOWNLOAD

  • Go to the Google Play Store – search for ‘Timestrip’
  • Download, install and open the app

CREATE AN ACCOUNT

  • If this is the first time you are using the app, click ‘Account Registration’ and enter your details
  • First name, last name, email & password are mandatory fields
  • Password must be at least 6 characters long with one number and one capital letter

LOG IN

  • Once registered, login using your email address & password
  • Once logged in you will get the choice to ‘Scan a Timestrip’ or ‘View Timestrips’
  • Click ‘Scan a Timestrip’ to register a new Timestrip® for the first time

NOTE ABOUT SERIAL NUMBERS

  • Please note: The app will only automatically recognise the new style serial numbers – an 11 digit number on the bottom of the Timestrip®
  • You can still use a Timestrip® with the old style serial number but you will need to enter the number manually – instructions below

ADD A TIMESTRIP® INDICATOR

  • Click ‘Scan a Timestrip’ to register a new Timestrip® for the first time
  • Your camera will open

  • Make sure to take a photo of the Timestrip® in a well-lit area with a plain/solid background

Frame, zoom, focus & snap

  • Get the Timestrip® in the frame
  • Zoom to increase the size of the serial number and breach window
  • Tap the Timestrip® on the screen to focus and snap the image
  • If the Timestrip® has one of our new serial number formats the app will recognise the number and you will get the notice ‘Timestrip saved successfully’
  • Your Timestrip® is now registered

ISSUES WITH ADDING A TIMESTRIP INDICATOR

  • If the app cannot recognise the serial number, you will get the ‘Timestrip ID calculation failed’ message.
  • The app will only automatically recognise the new style serial numbers – an 11 digit number on the bottom of the Timestrip®
  • If you have one of these and you get a ‘Timestrip ID calculation failed’ message try again by clicking ‘Retry’

SAVING A TIMESTRIP INDICATOR

  • When the app recognises the serial number you will arrive at a screen where you need to enter some additional information
  • Enter a ‘nickname’ to help you identify a Timestrip®
  • Enter the ‘location’ – where you are registering the Timestrip® – we also try to register your location via GPS if that is available
  • Enter any additional ‘Notes’ that you’d like to use – this field is not mandatory
  • Click ‘Register’
  • Now you get the ‘Timestrip saved successfully’ message

MANUALLY ENTERING AN INDICATOR

  • If you have an old style serial number of the app will not recognise the new one you can enter it manually
  • Click ‘Enter Manually’
  • Now enter the serial number, nickname & location
  • Click ‘Register’
  • You will get a popup list of products types, select the product type
  • Now you get the ‘Timestrip saved successfully’ message

VIEWING REGISTERED INDICATORS

  • You are now the registered ‘owner’ of that Timestrip® – any subsequent scans of it, done by you or someone else on their device, will now show on your list
  • Only you can see your Timestrips, if someone else scans it they will not be able to see it on their list as they do not ‘own’ it – this enables multiple people to make scans of it while on its journey and only you can see the information.
  • It will not show up on anyone else’s device – they will just get the ‘Timestrip Saved Successfully’ message
  • To view your registered Timestrip® click ‘View Timestrips’

UPDATING REGISTERED INDICATORS

  • When you activate the Timestrip® for the first time, take another scan and you will be presented with the options to change ‘Inactive’ to ‘Active’ and the breached status
  • Click ‘Update Timestrip’

VIEWING REGISTERED INDICATORS ON A MAP

  • Now when you click ‘View Timestrips’ and the ‘i’ icon you will see all your scans of that Timestrip®
  • Click the map pin icon on the top right of your screen to view your Timestrip® on a map if we have been able to get a GPS position when you scanned it
  • You can zoom in and out of the map for finer details
  • The maps and list will show an audit trail or journey of a particular Timestrip® indicator

HELP / TROUBLESHOOTING

  • If all of your scanned Timestrips are not visible, click the refresh icon on the top right to sync & refresh the list
  • Click the settings icon on the top right to see the app version, log out or view your Timestrips on the website
  • To view your Timestrips on the website instead of the app go here: https://timestrip.solutions.bb1.io/Login?
  • Once there, click ‘Timestrips’ on the menu bar
  • The question mark icon on the bottom of your screen will show an extra help window
